Grand Marshall - Rick Miller
This year Rick Miller is being honored as Grand Marshal for his many years of service to the community and the Los Gatos Lions Club. Three generations of Millers have lived in Los Gatos. Rick has been Chairman of the parade for the past 10 years and has been involved with the parade since 1978 when he joined the Los Gatos Lions Club. That's 45 years of service! Introducing our host band, the Los Gatos High School Wildcat Marching Band and Cheer Team. A time-honored
tradition, the Wildcat Marching Band has been participating in the annual Christmas Parade for over 25 years. The Los Gatos High School Marching band and color guard is under the direction of Mr. Ken Nakamoto and led by Drum Majors Aidan Lu (pronounced lou), Manon Raux-Moriwaki (pronounced Row-more-ee-wah-key), Sarah Green and Noam Ramon (pronounced know'em Rah-Moan).
The Los Gatos High School Cheer team loves seeing the Los Gatos community at the high school sporting events and other community events! The team consists of 31 members and one mascot! The team also competes and is excited to attend USA Nationals in Anaheim in February.

Please welcome our Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian and his wife Mary Hughes. Joe represents all or part of nine different cities in Santa Clara County, including Los Gatos, Monte Sereno and our neighboring communities in the Santa Cruz Mountains. He previously represented Los Gatos and Monte Sereno in the California State Assembly and served as a member of the California State Senate. He has served our North County and West Valley cities since his election to the Board of Supervisors in 2012. Supervisor Simitian was re-elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2016 and 2020.

LGS Recreation Staff & Participants
LGS Recreation has been in operation since 1956 and services areas including: Los Gatos, Saratoga, Monte Sereno and Mountain communities. The children walking in the parade today are made up of the Clubhouse after-school programs and World of Discovery Preschool.
Clubhouse Programs service students in grades K-5 and are located at all 4 elementary schools within Los Gatos: Blossom Hill, Daves Ave, Lexington and Van Meter. Clubhouse Programs currently serves approx over 300 students.
World of Discovery Preschool is LGS Recreation's licensed childcare. It is located in Saratoga on the Argonaut Elementary School campus and offers care for ages 2-6.

Los Gatos Rowing Club, founded in 1979, is located at beautiful Lexington Reservoir. We offer programs throughout the year for Middle Schoolers, High Schoolers, and Adults. Our athletes compete locally, nationally, and internationally. Last year, LGRC sent 10 crews to the Youth National Championships in Florida and placed 8 crews in the top 8 in the nation. Three crews won silver medals. Many of the athletes go on to be recruited to top rowing programs throughout the country.

The Los Gatos United Methodist Church, located next-door to the high school, has been serving the community for over 150 years. Their members are credited for getting Good Samaritan Hospital built, instigating the Lighting for Literacy program and offering an on-going Shower Ministry to the town's unhoused members.

Here we have Guide Dogs for The Blind. These volunteers bring 8-week-old puppies into their homes and give them back for training between 15 and 18 months.
Guide dogs for the blind started in 1942 right here in Los Gatos until relocating to a larger campus in San Rafael, California.
Guide Dogs for the Blind Inc accepts visually impaired students from throughout the United States and Canada. They provide transportation, room and board, the costs of training and all of their other services completely free of charge, and are supported entirely by private donations.
