Sheriff Jason Kamerud. Every day more than 200 employees and volunteers provide essential public safety services in Carver County. These services include secure detention, administration, 911 communications, law enforcement, and emergency management. The dedicated women and men who serve in these roles are committed to serving everyone with respect and dignity, and doing so with honor, integrity, and pride as outlined in the Carver County's Sheriff's mission statement. Sheriff Kamerud is the 16th Sheriff of Carver County, working alongside the courageous women and men who have sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution and laws in protecting our citizens, and he thanks the citizens of Carver County for their ongoing support.

The American Legion color guard serves at funerals at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. They do this one day a week where they participate in up to 16 ceremonies in a day. Last year the color guard presented more than 800 flags to the families of deceased veterans being buried at Fort Snelling.

The American Legion helps veterans find meaningful careers, education, and health-care services. It provides a place to support friendships, stable homes, and home-front support. Lastly, the American Legion pays perpetual respect for all past military sacrifices. Scouts of America: Troop 330, from Chanhassen
The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) provides the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training, which helps young people be “Prepared. For Life.®” The Scouting organization is composed of more than 1 million youth members between the ages of 5 and 21 and more than 628,000 volunteers in local councils throughout the United States and its territories.

Since its inception in 1910, more than 130 million young men and women have participated in the BSA’s youth programs. More than 35 million adult volunteers have helped carry out the BSA’s mission.

Established in 1965, the Carver County Sheriff's Office Mounted Posse is a volunteer organization with approximately 25 members with their horses that assist the Sheriff's Office with security, crowd control, search and rescue operations, community relations and outreach activities.

Our Distinguished service Awardee this year is Ruth Lunde
Ruth Lunde is our Chanhassen Rotary 4th of July Parade Marshal because she also is our Distinguished Service Award recipient for her remarkable resume of volunteer service.


Ruth volunteers on the Tech Team at her church, helps with the food for lunches and funerals and is part of the card ministry, She sings alto in the choir, leads Adult Education, makes quilts sent to places in need around the world.

As a member of Chanhassen Rotary, Ruth has served on the International Committee and been invaluable as the Weekly Meetings Program chair. Ruth served as the Service Scholarship Chair that vetted graduating high school seniors and delivered over $25,000 in scholarships to 28 recipients in 2023.

She volunteers at Humanity Alliance, a food rescue, prep and delivery charity in Victoria.


Ruth Leads Habitat for Humanity Teams here and around the world.

And rides in the Habitat 500 Bike Ride for the last 13 years!


As a member of Chanhassen Rotary, Ruth has served on the International Committee and been invaluable as the Weekly Meetings Program chair. Ruth served as the Service Scholarship Chair that vetted graduating high school seniors and and delivered over $25,000 in scholarships to 28 recipients in 2023.


Ruth serves on the Board of Children’s Shelter of Cebu in the Philippines building 20+ children’s libraries in rural Cebu and partnered with Chanhassen Library to take the excess books from our book sale and get them to Cebu.

Ruth serves on the Board of A Better Society here in Chanhassen helping other organizations achieve their goals, move forward and drive social change.
Ruth has deployed with the Red Cross to northern California wildfires and Hurricane. If you needed the help of Red Cross, Ruth might be the one helping you.
Ruth serves on Chanhassen’s Commission on Aging, an advisory committee to Chanhassen City Council. There she works on affordable housing policy for seniors.
Ruth is one of three State Coordinators of Braver Angels and, Braver Politics which seeks to bridge the partisan divide and strengthen our democratic republic by fostering civil discourse and workshops.
She is a blood platelet donor.

Here comes a storm-but no need to take shelter- this one's on a skateboard! The Chanhassen Storm's sports mascot is here with us today! Our Chanhassen Storm compete in the Metro West Conference. Chanhassen High School offers more than 30 different athletics programs designed to meet the interests of their student body. These programs are an opportunity and a privilege afforded to students in the Chanhassen school community. Students are strongly encouraged to become active in a variety of activities while attending Chanhassen High School. Chanhassen High School recognizes the value and importance of athletics programs as an extension of a good educational program. Participation in the athletics programs is a privilege and a valuable part of the overall school experience. It contributes to the emotional, physical, and intellectual development of our students, helping prepare them to become productive, contributing citizens of their community.

Fire Chief Don Johnson is driving a 2018 Chevy Tahoe one of the five command vehicles in the fire department. Chanhassen Fire is a combination department comprised of 27 part time firefighters and 9 full time firefighters who staff the Fire Station with a crew of 3, 24/7. A full time captain is in charge of the crew and Fire Chief and Assistant Chief are supported by 3 part time Battalion Chiefs covering the evenings and weekends. With this staffing model we are able to provide an average on scene time of just over 7 minutes to the over 1,200 calls for service in a year. The Fire Chief reports to the City Manager and is also the Emergency Management Director for the community.

Welcome Miss Minnesota 2023! the newest Miss Minnesota was crowned, beating out 24 other hopeful candidates and moving on for a chance to compete on a national stage for the title of "Miss America."
Angelina Amérigo, a 22-year-old student at Minnesota State University Moorhead, accepted the crown and a $10,000 educational scholarship. She will represent the Land of 10,000 Lakes at the 2024 Miss America competition.
Her community service initiative is “One Bottle, One Straw, One Bag at a Time," focusing on reducing the use of disposable plastics.
“Protecting our oceans, lakes, and rivers while living in Minnesota is possible. Each of us can collectively change the ways we use day-to-day items,” said Amérigo. “It all starts with three simple steps. We can form new habits, share information, and encourage others to join us. As Miss Minnesota, my goal is to make this topic alive to reach larger audiences while making an impact one bottle, one straw, and one bag at a time.”

Angelina Amerigo is a Presidential Honors Student, Majoring in Digital Media Management with an emphasis in Public Relations & Advertising at Minnesota State University Moorhead. With the goal of continuing her education to earn her Masters's Degree in Brand Marketing and Supply Chain Management. Online school and college have allowed Angelina to pursue her passion for the performing arts, opening up the world for her to work with top performers around the country. She has worked alongside Broadway professionals and award-winning choreographers from So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, and more! She is a four-time National Triple Threat award recipient (actor, singer, and dancer). She has won numerous awards and performing arts scholarships, earning her a leadership role on a national dance tour as a pro-faculty assistant.

The Twin Cities Unicycle Club is the largest unicycle club in the country, and oldest
in Minnesota. Club members hold over 30 national titles and 15 world titles in
various events ranging from artistic to racing, group riding to mountain unicycling.

Twin Cities. This summer, unicycle riders will come from all over the country to

Did you know FireTruck ONE was purchased in 2018 to replace a 30yo spartan ladder truck which was sold to the city of Pine City for $25,000? Truck #1, is a 110-foot Velocity Ascendant ladder weighing in at 58.000lbs. It has a 500-gallon water tank and Tak 4 independent front suspension and only a single-axle rear. It carries 1,400 feet of large diameter hose with three pre-connected attack lines. This apparatus was the first piece aerial with a buckt at the end of the ladder purchased in the state of Minnesota.

National American Miss is a natural pageant for girls ages 4-24. Their mission is to grow confidence and make a positive impact in your community. The Minnesota pageant will be held in August.

Clowns Across the River is an active Clown troupe based in Apple Valley, MN. We appear in many local parades and charity events throughout the year. The Eastern Carver County Middle School Marching Band consists of students from Chaska Middle School-East, Chaska Middle School-West, and Pioneer Ridge Middle School. Directed by Tanya Gabel, Matt Potter, Scott Prescott and Eric Songer, the band meets once a week in the summer and is a great experience for kids to learn the basics of being in a marching band. Also known as the Safety Green Marching Machine, the band performs throughout the community in the summer.

Please save the date - Labor Day, September 4, 2023 - for the Labor Day Car Parade & Show. The parade is open to all sorts of vehicles, starts near Lake Ann Park at 11:30AM on Labor Day, and works its way through downtown Chanhassen, ending at the Dinner Theater's parking lot, where the car show begins and runs through 3PM. Feb Festival is an annual event put on by the City of Chanhassen and the Rotary Club of Chanhassen to get families out of the house during the deep winter of February. Rotary predrills one thousand holes in ice for the fishing contest, with prizes based on the length of the fish caught.

We are Warrior Dog Rescue from Savage, Minnesota. We are a nonprofit, foster based rescue that has been rescuing dogs for 6 years. We are proud to say over 3,065 dogs have found a new home. The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering.
