Clydesdales
Anheuser Busch Clydesdales
* The Hometown Favorite and a St. Louis Tradition
* The original Budweiser Clydesdales were purchased from Patrick Shea, owner of Shea's Brewery in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada who had also used them for promoting his brewery.
* Rebranded for Budweiser, the horses were first introduced to the American public on April 7, 1933, to celebrate the repeal of Prohibition.[8] August A. Busch, Jr. presented the hitch as a gift to his father, August Anheuser Busch, Sr.,
* The hitch proceeded to carry the first case of post-Prohibition beer from the St. Louis brewery in a special journey down Pestalozzi Street in St. Louis.[8]
* To qualify for one of the hitches, a Budweiser Clydesdale must be a gelding with an even temperament and strong, draft horse appearance,[4] be at least four years old, stand at least 18 hands (72 inches, 183 cm) at the withers when fully mature, and weigh between 1,800 and 2,300 pounds (820 and 1,040 kg). In addition, each horse must be bay in color (a reddish-brown coat with a black mane and tail), have four white stocking feet, and a blaze of white on the face.
* Television advertising featuring the Budweiser Clydesdales had been a longstanding Super Bowl tradition, beginning with an ad during Super Bowl XX in 1986.

Metro Transit--Electric Bus
* Metro Transit is a division of Bi-State Development, established in 1949 through an interstate compact between Missouri and Illinois to serve and enrich the St. Louis region.
* In 1963, Bi-State acquired the region's 15 struggling private transit companies and began operating them as a single system.
* Today, Metro operates 400 clean-burning diesel buses and 18 battery electric buses that serve 65 MetroBus routes in eastern Missouri and southwestern Illinois.
* Metro also operates MetroLink light rail vehicles on 46 miles of track serving 38 stations in the two-state area, and operates Metro Call-A-Ride, a paratransit fleet of 125 vans.
* Metro Transit operates with a focus on making a positive impact in the communities it serves and better connecting everyone in the bi-state region to education, employment, enjoyment and new opportunities.
* As Metro continues to move the greater St. Louis region into the future, its goal remains the same as it was when it first began transit service in 1963: to operate with transparency, fiscal integrity and efficiency, while ensuring that everyone in the region can reach the important destinations in their lives.
* This electric bus represents the future of mobility in the St. Louis region. Metro's electric bus fleet launched this summer with 14 60-foot articulated electric buses and 4 40-foot electric buses, and is the second largest electric bus rollout in the country. They offer a superior transit experience with the latest technology and the quietest, smoothest ride in the market; are zero-emission and environmentally friendly; and offer a substantial savings over the life of the bus in fuel and maintenance costs.
* The battery-electric bus in the parade today has 330 kWh of battery storage - enough to power ten 2,000 square-foot homes for a day!
* Metro Transit is hiring operators, mechanics and more! Join our team and serve your community, while receiving a competitive salary, great benefits, opportunities for advancement, and more. Visit WorkAtMetroSTL.com.

Premier Charter School (vehicle & 50-100 participants)
* Premier Charter School opened its doors to 524 kindergarten-sixth grade students in 2000 as one of the first charter schools in St. Louis. The founding charter was led by the desire to offer another option for a quality education to families living in the city.
* Now serving over 1000 students in pre-kindergarten-eighth grades PCS has become an exceptional model for an educational experience committed to whole child development.
* As the first charter school in the St. Louis area designated as both a State and National School of Character, the intentional combination of academic learning with social and emotional learning is at the heart of all we do.
* PCS continues to be a model and leader with this approach to education. PCS annually hosts local, national, and international delegates of educators who visit and meet with students, teachers, and school leaders in order to learn more about best practices.
* We are a PreK-8 public elementary school of choice, serving children who live in the city of St. Louis (no other requirement).
* We believe education is done best through a whole-child approach to learning.
* This is reflected through inquiry-based academics, intentional work to build positive classroom and school cultures, a variety of individual social-emotional supports, and opportunities for physical activity and play.
* We continue to maintain our status of a state and national school of character, that was awarded to us in 2011. In addition, our Head of School, Dr. Julie Frugo was named the Missouri Public Charter School Association Leader of the Year in that same year, and she continues to lead our school today.
* Additionally, in 2019, we received the Missouri Governor's Fitness Award and were awarded a new $100, 000 fitness gym, a rare addition to an elementary school. We won this award because of our demonstration of our dedication to incorporating physical activity and fitness into each child's school day.
* We are the first charter school in St. Louis and have been serving children and families in St. Louis for 21 years-we reflect the diversity in our community with 24% of our students speaking over 15 languages other than English. We are committed to the whole child approach to character and academic education.
* Uniform Colors: brown turkey sweatshirts, we also have PCS navy shirts.

SIKHS of St. Louis (truck + banner & tow float, 2 drummers, 100 walkers)
* Disaster Relief Non-Profit Organization
* Emergency Response Team who provides free supplies and food during emergencies.
* Sikhs of STL is basically a Disaster Relief/ Emergency Response Team who responds mostly during emergencies. No Questions asked, No Judgement policy, Selfless Service are basic principles of Sikhs of STL.
* They are not restricted to only the Sikh community but we are open to all religions, faiths ethnicities, and cultures. Sikhs of STL was founded in 2019 and other than disaster relief projects, we also do TURBAN DAY every year for Susan G. Komen and St. Jude to honor the cancer survivors with free turbans which is a priceless crown for a Sikh.
* On this day we tie free turbans and also put the local talent on the stage to perform their talent in front of everyone to support local talent and businesses. Before the pandemic set in, Sikhs across America would offer free meals (known as âÃúLangarâÃù) to anyone who showed up at their Gurdwaras, the SikhsâÃô place of worship. However, as various states in the country went into lockdown, their temples, too, had to stop their services.
*âÃúWhen the pandemic came along, the Sikh temples were shutting down, and that didnâÃôt seem right. At times of dire need, you donâÃôt close down, you open up.âÃù Therefore, I and 5 other volunteers across Saint Louis decided to ramp up their volunteer effortsâÃîall while maintaining social distancing and top-notch hygiene standards.
*âÃúWhen we started, it was for two shelter homes. We started driving for hours downtown, bringing people food.âÃù The initiative quickly grew in size as more volunteers joined hands. Though I did all the shopping, 85 families had come together to cook 1,500 meals a week. At the end of each week, the volunteers would drop by my home to leave the meals theyâÃôve cooked, and then I would distribute the meals myself so volunteers wonâÃôt expose themselves. âÃúA lot of elderly and kidsâÃîI didnâÃôt want them to go out,âÃù. âÃúItâÃôs my responsibility.âÃù Among the principles of the Sikh faith is Seva âÃî âÃúbasically, âÃòselfless service'âÃù.
* We brought Food and Supply drives to a lot of different counties of Saint Louis where pandemic hit very badly financially and emotionally. We brought fresh produce, non-perishables, milk, bread, hygiene supplies, hot meals, water, etc., and would serve almost 1000 families in every food drive. We also did an unhoused supply drive almost every weekend to provide them with hot meals, winter clothes, blankets, and emergency kits.
* Today this Disaster relief project is still up and running every Sunday, right outside my house where anyone and everyone can still get food. The continuous support by the community has helped us to serve the families in need and we are still able to help a lot of them with the amazing support of the community.
* What Sikhs of STL have done till today is what a family would do for its family members. I feel not only Saint Louis but this whole world is just like our family who needs enough support and love from each one of us to make love win over the hate. If we all start helping at least one person in our daily life, we will end up healing this whole world in no matter of time. I was recently given an Honors Award by Missouri Attorney General for the work I did along with our amazing volunteers to serve the Saint Louis community. Also, our interview was published by Missouri History Museum under their digital pandemic archives. Our interviews are published online by KMOV, FOX2Now, CNN, VoyageSTL.
