Rotary Club of Los Gatos
We live in such a great community with so many caring people that our town has TWO Rotary clubs! The first club holds meetings Tuesday afternoon and the second club holds meetings Wednesday morning. They are both under Rotary International. The first club walking here are...
The Rotary Club of Los Gatos which was chartered in 1924, and is one of the longest-standing community service clubs in our town. Riding in the car is the current club President Dr. Martin Fishman and his wife Barbara.
Over 100 members meet at the Los Gatos Lodge every Tuesday for lunch to hear interesting speakers and plan local and international service events throughout the year. Los Gatos Rotary's primary focus is serving our local youth, underprivileged communities in the South Bay, and international communities promoting health, development, and peace. They sponsor Interact, service-oriented Clubs, at Los Gatos and Leigh High School, and award over $40,000 every year to needy high school seniors for college.
They give generously. Los Gatos Rotary contributes over $200,000 annually to community and international projects and grants. They hold two major fundraisers each year the Los Gatos Rotary Great Race, a 4 mile run starting in Saratoga and ending in downtown Los Gatos every April. As well as the all-you-can-eat dungeons CrabFest & Auction in January at St. Andrewââ¬â¢s Church in Saratoga. This month they are raising fund for critically ill children & their families staying at the Ronald McDonald House by hosting opening night of the final Star Wars movie at the Los Gatos theatre!
These Rotarians see a world where people unite, take action, and create lasting change, in Los Gatos, throughout the South Bay, and across the world.

Los Gatos High School Robotics
Los Gatos High School Iron Claw Robotics (Team 972) participates in the FIRST Robotics Competition and was founded in 2016, with a strong belief in the importance of student leadership. All aspects of their teamââ¬âdesigning and building their robot, training members, fundraising, and hosting outreach eventsââ¬âare coordinated by students. In the fall leading up to the 2016 season, a group of students who had joined the nearby team at Pioneer High School brought the FRC program back to Los Gatos High School. They won the 2018 San Francisco Regional and competed at the FRC World Championship in Houston. In 2019, their robot specialized in cargo pickup, placing 2nd out of 59 teams. Their robot also moved laterally, which was highly sought after from other teams to provide defense that other teams could not move around. They were also very successful during the ââ¬Ëblindââ¬â¢ robot driving. Their robot qualified for the world championships at the Silicon Valley Regional for the second consecutive year. GO IRON CLAW!!!
