Girl Scouts
We're 2.5 million strongââ¬âwith 549 girls, 337 adults and 59 active troops in Niguel Coast who believe in the power of every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)â⢠to change the world.
Our extraordinary journey began more than 100 years ago with the original G.I.R.L., Juliette Gordon ââ¬ÅDaisyââ¬Â Low. On March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, she organized the very first Girl Scout troop, and every year since, weââ¬â¢ve honored her vision and legacy, building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
For example, fifty-eight percent of women in the 116th Congress (2019-2021) are Girl Scout alums and more than half of female business leaders are Girl Scout alums.

Orange County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team
ââ¬ÅHere is the Orange County Sheriffââ¬â¢s Search and Rescue team. This volunteer organization has been around for over 50 years and is a member of the prestigious Mountain Rescue Association. It is composed of experts in high-angle rescue (both snow and ice and technical rock rescue), wilderness medicine, survival skills, and search and rescue techniques. Along with providing urban and wilderness search and rescue services, they also conduct evidence searches, provide disaster preparedness training, and teach educational programs. This year theyââ¬â¢ve been on searches throughout southern California for missing kids, older adults and hikers. They commonly use dogs to assist in their searches. The Bloodhounds, with their remarkable sense of smell, are highly trained to detect and trail specific scents over long distances. The Labrador Retrievers, used as Cadaver and Area Search dogs, are trained to detect any human odor in large areas. We thank the Search and Rescue unit for their valuable service.ââ¬Â

Squadron 68
Since Civil Air Patrolââ¬â¢s formation during the earliest days of World War II, this vigilant organization of citizen Airmen has been committed to service America.
Founded on Dec. 1, 1941, to mobilize the nation's civilian aviation resources for national defense service, C.A.P. has evolved into a premier public service organization that still carries out emergency service missions when needed ââ¬â in the air and on the ground.
As a Total Force partner and Auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, Civil Air Patrol is there to search for and find the lost, provide comfort in times of disaster and work to keep the homeland safe. Its 60,000 members devote their time, energy and expertise toward the well-being of their communities, while also promoting aviation and related fields through aerospace/STEM education and helping shape future leaders through C.A.P.ââ¬â¢s cadet program.
Civil Air Patrolââ¬â¢s missions for America are many, and todayââ¬â¢s adults and cadets perform their duties with the same vigilance as its founding members ââ¬â preserving C.A.P.ââ¬â¢s over 75-year legacy of service while maintaining its commitment to nearly 1,500 communities nationwide.

ââ¬ÅGreat Danes of Orange Countyââ¬Â is a group of Great Danes (and their people) who meet at the City of Irvineââ¬â¢s Central Bark Dog Park off Sand Canyon Road every Sunday morning. They can also be spotted at other Dane-Friendly locations such as Huntington Beach Dog Beach, the Irvine Spectrum, and other local dog parks. While most of the Danes live in Orange county, some come from as far as Riverside and the Palm Springs area to visit with their Dane friends each Sunday.
Known as ââ¬ÅGentle Giants,ââ¬Â Great Danes were originally used to hunt boars and guard estates. Now, however, they are more likely to hunt for a lap to sit on and guard the couch.

Triton Marching Alliance
Please join us in welcoming the San Clemente Triton Marching Alliance! The San Clemente Triton Marching Alliance is under the direction of their fearless leader Tony Soto! They are made up of orchestra, band, and dance pageantry members. They have been awarded two bronze SCSBOA medals and made the California State band championships last year.
The marching band was first formed in 1965 by Mr. Joseph Shofner, primarily a language teacher at San Clemente HS. Legend states that Mr. Shofner was in the teacherââ¬â¢s lounge one day and asked why such an up to date school didnââ¬â¢t have a marching band. Since then, they have continued to grow and thrive throughout the years!
They currently compete in the California State Band circuit. Great job, Tritons! Keep up the fantastic work!
