The color guard is made up of members of the Oscar & John Soberg VFW Post 210, Commanded by Tim Dennison, retired Marine First Sergeant, VFW Post 210 Auxiliary Post under their president Tammy Dennison, and John Vessey Sr. American Legion Post 44 under the command of Bob Billings, United States Army."

The post was established in 1919 and is one of the oldest active Posts in Minnesota.

Mayor Hellier is in his second term as mayor and has been on the Lakeville City Council since January 2017. Luke and his wife, Josi, are both graduates of Lakeville High School and have lived near Crystal Lake since 2014. Joining Council Member Hellier in the parade today are his wife, Josi, and five children.


Councilmember Joshua Lee is an eleven-year resident of Lakeville with his wife, Annie, and two children. Joshua enjoys serving as a Lakeville Rotarian and former Police Reserve officer. He works nearby at St. Olaf College.


Councilmember John Bermel is in his second term on the Lakeville City Council. John and his wife Kris have lived in Lakeville for over 30 years. They have two adult children, Mitch and Lydia. John has volunteered in the community for decades and loves living out his call to public service in Lakeville.


Councilmember Michelle Volk is currently serving her second term. She and her husband, Tom have resided in Lakeville for over 35 years.


Dan Wolter is in his third year on the City Council. For his day job, he manages government and community relations for Hy-Vee and is currently chair of the Minnesota Retailers Association. An animal enthusiast, he lives in northern Lakeville with his two English bulldogs, cats, and most recently added backyard chickens (in compliance with applicable city ordinances, of course).

Lakeville Fire and Rescue has been providing emergency services since 1884 covering 38 square miles of the city and Eureka Township. In 2024, Lakeville began a transition towards a hybrid department comprising both full-time and paid-on-call personnel. They currently have 21 full-time firefighters and 65 paid-on-call firefighters staffing 2 engines 24/7. LFD is in the process of designing a new fire station and over the past 2 years have remodeled 2 existing fire stations to accommodate staffing.

Check out the 1939 International Antique truck. Behind the wheel is one of Lakevilles retired firefighters. Lakeville has 11 fire apparatus in service housed at 4 stations. Today they are exhibiting their 2006 LaFrance Aerial truck with a 100 foot platform, 2016 Rosenbauer Pumper/Rescue and 2023 Rosenbauer Pumper Engine.

Welcome our 89th Miss Minnesota, Emma Vrieze. Emma was crowned on June 20th at Treasure Island Resort and Casino and will now serve the state and prepare to compete on the Miss America stage.

The St. Paul Bouncing Team is in its 139th year. We consist of fourteen "pullers"; each grab a set of handles affixed to the circular canvas blanket in order to launch as acrobatic "bouncing girl" high into the air. We have been entertaining crowds with our high-flying act at parades, festivals and other events since 1886. The team upholds the long-standing tradition of performing the blanket toss, which is believed to predate written history. Native Americans employed the toss as elevating one of their clan to a higher vantage point to watch for game, predators and other treats.

Lakeville Cheerleading is proud to have over 200 athletes in the program district wide, grades K-12. Offering recreation, competition and sideline cheerleading. The marching band is part of a comprehensive band program that includes three concert bands, two jazz ensembles, pep band, percussion ensemble, and numerous other small ensembles. The Zuhrah Shrine Drum Corps of Minneapolis, Minnesota is in its 104th year as a marching musical unit of Zuhrah Shrine. The Corps was organized during the winter of 1921 and has been in continuous operation since that time, primarily as a parade unit. The Corps made its debut at the Minneapolis Shrine Circus on March 14, 1921 and performed in its first parade on July 4th of the same year.

The Shrine Club was chartered in Le Sueur MN in 1966 where another famous character already resided, the Jolly Green Giant and because of him the club's title was created. The Zuhrah Shrine Horse Patrol is a mounted Shrine Horse Unit that was founded in 1947. Led by our Captain Bob Gretton, we enjoy riding in parades all over the Twin Cities and further. The Shriners motto is, We Ride So Kids Can Walk. The Shriners have 22 Children Hospitals located in Canada, Mexico, and of course the good ole USA. The Zuhrah Shrine Horsemen are always looking for new riders for fun, comradery, and nobility.

The 320-member Pride of Minnesota Marching Band is preparing for its 135th season this fall. According to legend, the St. Paul Winter Carnival Junior Royalty brings youth and exuberance to the realm of Boreas. The Junior Royalty program is open to young men and women age 12-15 from across the Twin Cities who serve as good will ambassadors. The Junior Court makes about 75 appearances throughout the year while learning public speaking skills, interpersonal skills and serving the community in various service projects.
