Daviess County High School's JROTC program is a citizenship development class. Students do not have to join the military. They learn elements of leadership, military history, science, personal finance and other life skills. Students receive PE, Health, and Performing Arts credits. The unit has after school activities and competitive teams unique to JROTC, and contributes hundreds of volunteer hours annually. Daviess County Public Schools Transportation "BACK IN OUR DAY"
School bells are ringing loud and clear; Christmas break is soon near! And the team from the Daviess County Public Schools Transportation Department is flying in pulling their little red wagon! The DCPS Transportation department is always filled with cheer and smiles while transporting all of Daviess County and Santaâs littlest helpers. Transportation models in DCPS may have changed since the school district began in 1885 but the goal still remains the same: providing safe, caring, and professional transportation for all students in our community.
The merriest and largest team in DCPS greets your students in the morning and wishes them well in the afternoons. As the bus twinkles by your section, be sure to remember that DCPS Transportation is always here to keep the wheels turning while working together for our Kids!

The Claypool Sleigh
This custom sleigh was hand crafted with love by Tommy Claypool and gifted to the Crabtree Family from Tommy & Milly this year. Riding and walking along the sleigh is the Owensboro Archery Club or OAC. They are a local, non profit club that has achieved unprecedented success this year, sweeping the state and national championships in all three disciplines of Scholastic 3D Archery. THE BIG MAN (Santa Claus)
Here comes Santa Claus! Santa has made his way to Owensboro. When he came down the chimney, he found himself back in time. Here he is in a vintage living room. Just look at the toys he brought these children -a rocking horse, Radio Flyer tricycle and scooter, baby dolls & cradle, and how many of you played with Raggedy Ann & Andy? The only thing I don't see is a BB Gun the little boy wanted. Maybe it is in one of the presents. All under the aluminum Christmas tree complete with color wheel!
