The color guard is made up of members of the Oscar & John Soberg VFW Post 210, Commanded by Tim Dennison, retired Marine First Sergeant, VFW Post 210 Auxiliary Post under their president Tammy Dennison, and John Vessey Sr. American Legion Post 44 under the command of Bob Billings, United States Army."

Leading off our entertainment today is the Lakeville North High School Marching Band. The band is known for their traditional high step march and shoulder swing style and has appeared in parades around the country, including the Tournament of Roses Parade and the 2005 presidential inaugural parade. Mayor Hellier is in his first term as mayor and has been on the Lakeville City Council since January 2017. Luke and his wife, Josi, are both graduates of Lakeville High School and have lived near Crystal Lake since 2014. Joining Council Member Hellier in the parade today are his wife Josi and five children.

Councilmember Joshua Lee is a ten-year resident of Lakeville with his wife, Annie, and two children. Joshua enjoys serving as a Lakeville Rotarian and former Police Reserve officer. He works nearby at St. Olaf College.

Councilmember John Bermel is serving his first term on the Lakeville City Council. John and his wife Kris have lived in Lakeville for over 30 years. They have two adult children, Mitchell and Lydia. John loves living out his call to public service in Lakeville.

Councilmember Michelle Volk is currently serving her second term. She and her husband, Tom have resided in Lakeville over 35 years.

Dan Wolter is the newest member of the Lakeville City Council. A resident of Northern Dakota County for most of the last two decades, this Iowa native leads retailer Hy-Vees government and community relations in Minnesota and has a long history of community service, including time on the Metropolitan Council and currently serving on the Minnesota Zoo Board. Dan is an avid animal enthusiast and lives in the Oak Shore neighborhood with two rescue cats and two English Bulldogs named Lizzo and Drake, both of whom are on Instagram.

Lakeville Fire and Rescue has been providing emergency services since 1884 covering 38 square miles of the city and Eureka Township. In 2024, Lakeville began a transition towards a hybrid department comprising both full-time and paid-on-call personnel. They currently have 6 full-time firefighters and 68 volunteer paid-on-call firefighters. Over the next 3 years, the Fire department will enhance its existing paid-on-call team by integrating additional full-time firefighters.

Check out the 1939 International Antique truck. Behind the wheel is one of Lakevilles retired firefighters. Lakeville has 12 fire trucks in service housed at 4 stations. Today they are exhibiting their 2006 LaFrance Aerial truck with a 100 foot platform, and their two 2016 Rosenbauer Pumper/Rescue trucks.

The Hastings High School Raiders Marching Band is in its 32nd year of competition. The marching band is part of a comprehensive band program that includes three concert bands, two jazz ensembles, pep band, percussion ensemble, and numerous other small ensembles. The marching band is supported by the Hastings Band Boosters and the ISD 200 administration. The Hastings School Districts music program is a Minnesota Exemplary Music Program Award recipient. With a history spanning over 75 years, the 204th Army Band of Fort Snelling, MN and Vancouver, WA is unique among Army bands. The band is part of the 88th Readiness Division headquartered at Fort McCoy, WI. Highlights of the band's history include World War II campaign credits and performance in 1994 commemorating the 50th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy France, and 10 years later in Rome. The Blue Devils were the first reserve band to be selected to fill in for the United States Military Academy Band at West Point. It started when a newspaper reporter from New York visited St. Paul in January and published it was "unfit for human habitation."
